Since iOS 11, iPhones have saved pictures in HEIC file format by default setting. HEIC — Apple's HEIC format — is highly efficient: it generates pictures with roughly half the storage of similar JPEGs maintaining high photo quality.Yet there is a major problem. HEIC is an Apple-centric format not universally accepted beyond the Apple ecosystem.
